Introduction 1. All persons participating in the Absa Card Assist promotion (the Participants) agree that the promotion rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them. 2. The organiser of this promotion is Absa. 3. Winners of the grand prize acknowledge that their pictures/videos will be used to promote the Absa Card Assist Promotion across all media platforms. 4. Rules of the Promotion To qualify as a Participant: a. The participant must live in the Republic of Ghana. b. The participant must provide his/her correct and full personal contact details, as required. c. The participant must be aged 18 years or older d. The participant must have a valid Ghana Card and Passport e. The participant must meet the eligibility requirements set out in paragraph 5 below. f. Rewards cannot be transferred and will only be handed over to the participant if all personal details given are factually correct. g. Rewards will not be exchanged for cash amounts or for any reward other than the reward offered in the Promotion 5. Eligibility This promotion is only open to the following groups of customers: a. 1. How our credit card works
Our credit card allows you to borrow money up to your credit limit and, using the credit advanced to you, to make
payments at places that accept credit card as a means of payment and to do certain banking transactions.
2. Agreement
• In the rest of these terms we refer to:
• This credit card agreement as this “agreement”
• Your credit card facility as your “credit facility”
• Your credit facility account as “your account”
• The total debit balance on your account at any time as “your balance”
• The minimum payment you agree to make each month as “your minimum payment”
• The latest date each month by which you agree to make your minimum payment as your “payment date” 1
• Transaction using your credit facility carried out with your credit card as a “transaction”
This agreement is to be read with the personal customer agreement which contains important terms and information
about using your credit card for transactions.
3. Your credit limit
Your credit limit will be for an amount as we determine following an assessment of your ability to repay the credit
advanced.
4. Monthly account statement
Your transactions, balance, minimum payment, and payment date are shown in your monthly account statement,
which is the official record of your account. You agree to let us know in writing within
30 days after the date of the monthly account statement if you think anything may be incorrect.
5. Agreement to pay interest, fees and costs
• You agree to pay the interest, fees, and costs referred to in this agreement and the personal customer agreement.
• You acknowledge that as provided under Section 61 of the Borrowers and Lenders Act, 2020 (Act 1052), we have
the right to sue you on any covenant to perform under the facility agreement in the event of a breach by you, and
to realise our interest in any security/collateral which is registered under Act 1052 without initiating proceedings
in court. You also acknowledge that we have the right under Act 1052 to appoint a receiver or manager to realise
the security interest on our behalf.
6. Fees
We will debit to your account:
• The first annual service fee when you enter into this agreement
• Subsequent annual service fees on the anniversary of your entering into this agreement
• Fees for transactions that we charge for
We can change our fees by notifying you in writing (via SMS or email) at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

7. Interest
Subject to some exceptions, we do not charge you interest on your transactions if you pay your whole balance stated
in your monthly account statement by the payment date (the “interest free period”).
The exceptions may include cash withdrawals. When you do not benefit from the interest free period we charge fees
and interest from the date of each transaction at:
• The cash advance fee for cash withdrawals
• The interest rate for all cash transactions
• Subject to the interest free period, interest is charged on your balance daily at midnight, and is debited to your
account monthly in arrears
We can change our interest rates by notifying you in writing (via SMS or email) at least 14 days before the change
comes into effect.
8. Payments
You can pay off your balance or any part ofit at any time using our internet or mobile banking platforms or by using a
pay-in slip at the branch. You agree to pay every month at least the minimum payment shown in your monthly account
statement by the payment date.
9. Direct debit
The direct debit (DD) is the minimum amount we require you to pay. This is run between the 21st and 4th of the
following month.
10. Increasing your limit
We may increase your credit limit by agreement with you, subject to us first carrying out a fresh credit assessment of
your ability to repay the additional credit advanced.
11. Temporary increase of your credit limit
At your request we may increase your credit limit temporarily by allowing transactions in excess of your credit limit.
if this happens you agree to reduce your balance below your credit limit by your next payment date.
12. Decreasing your credit limit
You may decrease your credit limit at any time by notifying us in writing. the decrease will take effect within 30 days
after we receive your notification. We may decrease your credit limit at any time notifying you in writing
(via SMS or email). The decrease will take effect whether or not you receive our notification.
You agree to reduce your balance to your new reduced credit limit within 30 days of any decrease in your credit limit
whether notified by you or authorised by us.
13. Changing the date upon which we debit fees and interest to your account or payment date
We may change the date in the month when we debit interest and fees to your account. fie will notify you at least 5
business days before the change takes effect.
14. Suspending your credit facility
We may suspend your credit facility at any time. The suspension will take effect immediately and we will notify you of
this suspension in writing (via SMS or email) within 30 days of the suspension taking effect. this means that there will
be no credit facility available to you.
15. Ending your credit facility
Your credit facility will continue until we or you bring it to an end. You can end your credit facility by
• Repaying your balance, together with any transactions, interest and fees accrued up to the date of payment but
not yet charged to your account, (we will provide this information to you)
• Notifying us in writing that you no longer require your credit facility. We will end your credit facility by notifying
you in writing (via SMS or email)
• Suspending your credit facility, the suspension taking immediate effect, and
• Requiring you to repay your balance within 10 days after the delivery of the notification, together with any
interest and fees accrued up to the date of payment but not yet debited to your account
Interest, fees, and costs will continue to apply and be debited to your account, until you have repaid your balance in
full. You agree to destroy your credit card when your credit facility ends.
16. Your credit limit
You agree that your credit limit will be either the limit you applied for or a lower limit as we may determine be
following an assessment of your ability to repay your credit limit.
We will notify you of your limit if it is lower than the limit you applied for via telephone, SMS or email.

19. Disclosure
To enable us comply with legal and regulatory requirements, you irrevocably consent to the disclosure by us, our
officers and agents in any manner howsoever of any information relating to you and your account relationship with us
including without limitation, details of the “facility”, any “security”, and your credit balances and deposits with us to:
a. Our parent company, any of our representative and branch offices in any jurisdiction, related corporations
(as defined in the companies code)
b. Any regulatory or supervisory authority including fiscal authority in any jurisdiction, to the extent allowed under
the banks and specialised deposit - taking institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930)
c. Any potential assignee of the bank or potential participant in any of our rights and/or obligations in relation to
the facility
d. Any guarantors, party providing security and our agents; and
e. Any licensed credit bureau or rating agency, provided that, in each case, the person to whom information is
disclosed has a duty of confidentiality to us in respect of such information.
20. Refunds due from excess repayments
Any refund due you from excess repayments in respect of this facility will be made either through your personal
account with Absa bank or through your employer within 30-90 days after any outstanding in charges, principal and
interests have been covered fully.
